EEA Named Top Workplace 2014

Austin, Texas. – November 17, 2014 – EEA Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of The Austin American-Statesman Top Workplaces.

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 40 major publishing partners across the United States. Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and 1 in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what’s on the minds of their employees. Through its workplace improvement offerings, WorkplaceDynamics provides solutions, training and tools to help clients improve their workplace.

Beyond the excellent benefits package and ownership opportunities through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), EEA began a Wellness Program in July of 2013 to motivate and encourage employees to live better and more fulfilled lives. After its inaugural year, a weekly fitness program led by employees was added. In the last four months a steady group of participants get together for running exercises, strength training circuits and water volleyball once per week. EEA also inspires Happiness in its employees through viewing and continual encouragement of the Happiness Advantage presented by Dr. Shawn Achor. In general, EEA employees work together and play together like family through various events organized internally such as our new annual chili cook-off, H.O.R.S.E. tournaments, potlucks, providing children with toys during the holidays, physical wellness challenges, and many more.

EEA also takes the family spirit into the community to volunteer with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Capital Area Food Bank of Austin. In 2014 EEA supported the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Green Apple Day of Service by joining others across the globe on September 27 to encourage sustainability in schools. EEA helped Brooke Elementary expand and prepare its community garden in east Austin for a dedication ceremony for a former teacher who had passed away. Employees also volunteer their time throughout the year at various events including science fairs and green school programs.

The Austin American-Statesman published the complete list of Top Workplaces on November 16th. For more information about the Top Workplaces lists and WorkplaceDynamics, please visit www.topworkplaces.com and www.workplacedynamics.com.
