As principal for Military Engineering, Commissioning, and Sustainable Design, Toby Troberman oversees military engineering projects and also manages commissioning projects in all markets sectors.
Some of Toby's EEA client base includes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Veterans Affairs, City of Austin, Texas Facilities Commission, The University of Texas, USAA, CenterPoint Energy, as well as multi-story office complexes and apartment buildings, amongst others.
Before coming to EEA in 2015, Toby racked up a decade of engineering, process improvement, project management, and team leadership experience in both the public and the private sectors. He served as a civilian with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a mechanical engineer, then project engineer, and finally as a commissioning authority as part of a large military medical program throughout Texas that executed $3.5 billion in design and construction projects. He's also worked for James Hardie Building Products where he worked in heavy manufacturing as a process engineer and operations supervisor.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas, Toby is certified as an Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP) as well as a Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) through the Association of Energy Engineers. Additionally, Toby has a Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) through the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.
Toby received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 2006 and his Master of Science in engineering management from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2011. He enjoys spending time with Alice, his wife since 2011, and his two young sons Dossett and Evans. He also likes raising, training, and competing with his hounds, backpacking, horses, gardening, and current affairs.
