Borders between nations - even allied nations - are complex entities that require state-of-the-art facilities to monitor and control the flow of traffic from one side to the other. The McAllen Border Patrol facility consists of two buildings:
These two buildings also include spaces for enclosed offices, open work areas, conference rooms, lunch / break rooms, copy room, data processing equipment and other typical employee areas. An emergency operations center is also located in the complex along with a Command Center with processing and holding areas.
EEA completed MEP design and Commissioning services for this facility and the building attained LEED Silver certification, a first in the McAllen area. Highlights of the green building can be seen in The Monitor (McAllen's local newspaper) clipping below.
